2025 Cyber Security Training: eduroam and Security Testing Tools Implementation

publish date : 2025-01-20
On January 6, 2025 (Monday), Central Police University held a "Cyber Security Literacy" training session, inviting seed instructors from various units within the university and interested faculty members to participate. Around 40 people attended.

This training aimed to assist colleagues in enjoying the convenience of AI and wireless networks while ensuring cyber security. The course content covered an introduction to the eduroam wireless network roaming service and the basic operation of security testing tools.

eduroam (education roaming) is a global wireless network service that allows students, teachers, and researchers to use wireless networks securely across participating institutions. Our university has officially joined eduroam. Faculty, staff, and students can use their university email addresses for authentication and access secure wireless network roaming services at over 10,000 eduroam-supported campuses and research institutions worldwide.

Regarding the operation of security testing tools, the course introduced the sysinternals suite, including tools such as tcpview, autoruns, and process explorer, to help conduct simple checks on computers for official use. These tools not only enhance computer performance but also detect potential threats, further improving personal computer security.

In the future, our university will continue to promote related training to enhance colleagues' information literacy and professional knowledge, ensuring comprehensive cyber security while improving teaching and administrative efficiency.
