2023 Cyber Security Training: Social Engineering, Social Media Security and Protection.

The computer center held a cyber security general education training on March 23, 2023 (Thursday) in the computer classroom. The training is intended to improve the concept of information security and prevent social engineering and protect various official data.
The lecture was delivered by Chao-Hwa Liu, consultant, of ISMS. The agenda includes social engineering, social media security, and security protection. The class also goes with the online course through Webex.
Social networking is convenient for people, they interact with each other online sharing daily life and interest. But the risk exists inside. People leave a lot of private information and sensitive data that might be collected or used by an intentional person and cause unexpected results.
Information is the main source of income for social media platforms. The platform provides personal information for advertising and marketing analysis or certain commercial operations. These data include name, email address, date of birth, residence address, etc. Some other types of information, such as personal interests, photos, and posts, describe the person's appearance in the real world. These types of information are treasured minerals in social media.
To sum up, the lecture introduces important tips to protect personal data while using social services. There are 96 faculty participated in the lecture. There is a simple quiz after the class, which get 70 out of 100 admitted pass.
